The FPIM (or SFPI; The Federal Company for Investment and Participation) is the federal government holding company that serves a dual role. The FPIM acts as an investment company and also operates as a government holding company. The investments as a public holding were made in consultation with the government.
In line with its public holding function, the FPIM can also take stakes in companies at the explicit request of the federal government. These are delegated tasks.
FPIM as an investment company
FPIM also aims to establish itself as the investment company that places great importance on socially responsible projects. FPIM seeks to achieve an optimal balance between profitability and societal relevance.
FPIM primarily intends to focus on the following economic and cross-cutting sectors.
- Aviation industry and airports
- Real estate
- Networks
- International investments
- Innovation
- Sustainability
Besides the requirement of profitability. SFPIM also requires the companies in which they invest to be societally responsible.
