TIN Capital, based in the Netherlands, is one of the oldest venture capital firms in Europe. It was founded in 1998 by a group of successful entrepreneurs.
Initially investing case by case, The Informal Investors Network (TIIN) quickly became a thriving community of more than 1,000 informal investors. Several years later, the wish to make larger investments resulted in the launch of TIIN Capital, a professionally structured fund manager (GP). Afterwards, TIIN Capital welcomed – among others – family offices, corporates and institutional investors as Limited Partners (fund investors).
After 25 years in business, we decided to change our name to better represent who we are today. By removing the I that stood for ‘Informal’, we did justice to the diversity of our Limited Partner community. From December 2023 onwards, we are known as TIN Capital, which stands for The Investors Network.
TIIN Capital invests in promising and innovative companies through its funds: TIIN TechFund 1,2 & 3, TIIN Buy-Out & Growth Fund and Berk Partners III & IV. The TIIN TechFund 1,2 & 3 funds focus on the ICT and high tech sectors and provide investment capital and guidance to Dutch early-stage businesses. TIIN Buy-out & Growth Fund focuses on later stage IT and high tech SME’s and both Berk Partners III & IV focus on later stage management buy-outs in SME’s.
